About Gibson Aviation

 

Darrel R Gibson grew up working at his fathers FBO business; Gibson Aviation Services Inc 1961-1989 in Eau Claire, WI.  After graduating High school in 1982, he attended Helena Vocational Technical School for Aviation Maintenance obtaining his A&P license. Darrel married his high school sweetheart Jennifer Leipnitz Gibson in 1985. Together Darrel and Jennifer went on to have and raise three children; Ted, Maddie, and Corbin. Darrel obtained his Inspection Authorization in 1987.

In 1989 Darrel W Gibson decided it was time to retire, and decided to sell the business.

Darrel R Gibson worked under the new ownership until 1990 at which time was hired by Northwest Airlines as an Aircraft Technician.  After 15 years of service with the airlines the company decided it was time to restructure after the effects of September 11, 2001 on the industry, Darrel was laid off. 

Asking his father what to do? Darrel W said "Do what you know". With his father's words of wisdom, Darrel decided it was time to get back to his aviation roots opening a shop in Amery, WI,  Osceola, WI and now at his present location in Menomonie, WI after becoming the Menomonie Municipal Airport Manager in 2012. 

Darrel R Gibson with his vast amount of experience, working on everything form J-3 Cubs to Boeing 747s, has grown a great reputation for providing the areas finest aircraft maintenance and flight training services.

"I appreciate the work ethics and knowledge passed onto me from my father.   In my shop we will treat every aircraft as if it were our own.  Never compromising safety or reliability. Our shop moto is never say can't and make sure it is better than when you started".
